REVIEW FOR MOVIE "Catch Me If You Can"

Frank Williams Abagnale Jr. the character of teenage boy role by famous actor Leonardo Di Caprio, the young boy who loves playing any character that he wants. The conflict happens when he was stuck by his family problem due to unstable financial condition facing by his father and forced them to move in small apartment. The mother did not comfortable to live with their family current situation and then cheating on his father. His father seems to be a not very good businessman who always pursued by business tax but very kind to Frank, the father and frank is the only honest relationship being shown in this movie and the second goes to Carl the FBI agent who was chasing Frank.

After running away from his family Frank try to survive by his own, his first journey in outside world indeed a rough. He pays the hotel room using the cheque given to him by his father, apparently the cheque was fake, and he is being driven away from hotel manager. He tries many ways how to clear the cheque as many banks he goes, however his fail. The idea popped out in his mind when he saw the pilot and the crew. He wants to become a pilot so that he can using his fake cheque, after success to deceive many people he indeed become one of the pilots but only as assistant and what happened next is his all stories. As a co-pilot he given different service from Bank rather than service as regular person, it is because the pilot has huge wage and the bank like those kinds of thing. He succeeds to deceive bank by clear his fake cheque and began to create more fake cheque to collect cash.

The era or situation in this movie is before the authentic cheque being issued in our real world. The Bank or company seem did not have the ability or capability to differentiate real cheque and the fake one. This situation gives the advantage to Frank to run his dirty business. In this movie, not only being as co-pilot he also enjoy to role many characters, he become a doctor without attending medical school and become a lawyer without have a law degree. All the thing happens because of his genius mind to manipulate the paper either it’s the certificate, document or cheque. The creation of cheque made by him is real smooth even the original considers fake compare to his cheque.

The climax began when FBI notice his activities and they plan to catch Frank no matter what. Even for FBI to catch a single young boy it takes 4 years to capture him. During the 4 years Frank always contact the head of operation Carl Hanratty, just to say a wish “Marry Christmas”. Carl know the Frank is very lonely and childish. At the end of operation Frank surrender and being isolated in Atlanta prison for 12 years. Despite, Frank began to give up after he know his father already die and his mother have another child with his new marriage. During his isolation in Atlanta prison the one and only person who visited Frank was Carl, the person who capture him. Carl treat Frank as his son and try to recruit frank as his team under “Bank fraud and forgery Department in FBI”. Carl know Frank can help his team to detect cheque fraud that began to advance within the recent years. The next phase of Frank isolation was in FBI office, he needs to work under FBI until his released time arrived. At the end of movie, on post credit I was so shocked to know that our new cheque system was modified by Frank and Carl. Many companies and bank nowadays using their cheque design. Thanks to them our current cheque now has become tight in term of security.
